Everyday at workplace we have a short sharing and prayer before we begin our work. Today, the sharing struck a chord in my heart. Compassion.

The Cambridge dictionary defines it as a strong feeling of sympathy and sadness for the suffering or bad luck of others and a wish to help them.

Over the weeks, many things have taken place and many people have been quick to criticise and judge. If only, we could have more compassion in action. It reminds me of a quote I once read,

Compassion is at the heart of every little thing we do. It is the dearest quality we possess, yet all too often it can be cast aside with consequences too tragic to speak of. To lose our compassion, we lose what it is to be human.

Can I encourage you my dear brothers and sisters to show compassion to all those who are in need? Let’s not be too quick to judge and condemn those who make mistakes. We can live “on earth as it is in heaven”, by more compassion in action.

Another point that I would like to make is showing compassion to your loved and close ones first. Sometimes it is much easier to show compassion to strangers but not to our own family, relatives and friends. Why? Because of our expectations. As the saying goes, it starts at home. Can I encourage you to show compassion starting with our loved ones? If you are blessed by this and would like to sow a seed of compassion in the lives of many, can I request you to share this post and acts of compassion that you encounter with the hashtag, #compassioninaction

Thank you and God bless
